@TOTBWF wanted a tactic that "does the obvious thing," which is to introduce lambdas and use as many unique data constructors as possible. For example, it will fill in:

test :: z -> Reader r a
test = _

as

test :: z -> Reader r a
test z = Reader (\r -> _)

It's also GADT-aware, and will use a gadt constructor if it's the only one that will unify.
